Since january 1st of this year, people over 65 years old had a fall in Europe, sometimes with serious consequences.

Gilles KEMOUN is a professor at the Faculty of Medicine in Poitiers, a chief physician at the university hospital in Poitiers, the author of numerous articles in international scientific publications, as well as the founder and President of ISIS, a research institute on disabilities.
- As an expert in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Professor Gilles KEMOUN has managed the development and setting up of many Aftercare and Rehabilitation department hospitals. He also devised various projects for private re-education institutes. He is an advisor at Mutualité Française.
- An expert in Sciences and Techniques applied to Disabilities who was the recipient of many research grants, he carried out projects in the fields of work adjustment training and gait and posture impairments among the elderly. He developed strategies to assess postural impairments in various pathological situations, notably considering the interactions between motor disorders and thymo-cognitive disorders.
In particular, he formalised the PADCHUTE programme, a strategy for the multifactorial assessment of fall risks and for multidimensional intervention at home. This programme is designed to improve seniors' autonomy and strengthen home support networks. As part of his work as a member of the Research Laboratory UPRES EA 3813, he is currently carrying out a national multicentric project within the framework of the National Hospital Programme for Clinical Research on the medical and economic assessment of a secondary strategy for the prevention of falls among seniors through a clinical and posturographic method at home.
- He is the Director of Studies of the Master's Degree in 'Re-education, Disability and Motor Skills Engineering', thereby contributing to the development of the new occupations relating to the services provided to senior and/or disabled individuals.
