Since january 1st of this year, people over 65 years old had a fall in Europe, sometimes with serious consequences.

Dr Jean-Eric LUNDY is a hospital practitioner and emergency physician at Cochin Hospital since 1998, a graduate of ESSEC (E89), a member of the European Society of Telemedicine as well as the founder and president of Vigilio S.A.
A specialist of innovation in the field of health, Dr Jean-Eric LUNDY soon became interested in the changes required in the hospital world and in the care given to the elderly.In 1999, he initiated the first project for a geriatric network in the Ile-de-France Region - the Soins coordonnés à domicile (Coordinated home care) network -, with the support of the Paris CPAM (Local Sickness Insurance Fund), of the hospitals of Siante Périne, Bichat, Ambroise Paré and Bretonneau as well as of numerous general practitioners in Paris.Within AFNOR (the French Association for Standardisation), as an expert, Dr Jean-Eric LUNDY also took part in the projects of the national commission for informatics in medicine and participated in the drafting of the awareness-raising guide on European standard ENV 13606 concerning the communication of electronic medical records.
First supported by the business incubator Paris Biotech Santé, he designed, in partnership with the TIMC-IMAG laboratory in Grenoble, the Carnot MIB institute in Bordeaux and industrial partners operating on a global scale, an early fall detection device for seniors which is proving to be particularly promising.
