Since january 1st of this year, people over 65 years old had a fall in Europe, sometimes with serious consequences.
When you fall and find yourself flat on your back, alone and unable to call for help, it is vital that you be able to get back up again.
Here are some ideas that will help you get back on your feet more easily :
Start by turning over from your back to your side
- Draw your legs together and bend your knees so taht you are lying on your side

Keep turning :

- Place both arms on the same side as your legs so that your upper body rols over
- Be careful not to block an arm under you as you turn over on your stomach

Lean on your lower arms and elbows to raise your head and upper body

Bend one of your knees to the side.

Kneel on your bended knee and pull up your other leg, knee bended, so that it’s in the same position.
Push yourself up with your forearms, using your hands for support; you’ll now be on your hands and knees.
Place your knees slightly apart so your position is stable.

Slowly move forward on your hands and knees until you get to a chair or a solid piece of furniture that you can use to prop yourself up, or towards a phone or any other place where you can call for help.
Take your time raising your upper body.

Stand up slowly while holding on to the support you’ve found.

Rest for a moment before standing up or while you’re waiting for help.
